Challenge Coin – Brevard Police Testing and Selection Center

In 2017, the Brevard Police Testing and Selection Center (BPTC)  celebrates its 30th Anniversary of servicing the Brevard County law enforcement community.  In late 2016, staff members of the center approached our firm regarding the creation of a challenge coin graphic to commemorate this milestone.  Over the next several months, we worked with them to create a coin image that uniquely captured the essence of their mission.

Working with the colors of the host institution – Eastern Florida State College, along with the branded logos of the Public Safety Institute, the graphic was styled for a 2.75 inch challenge coin that has now been stamped and provided to BPTC.  Surprisingly, we managed to keep this project under the radar until the coin was ready.

The front side of the new challenge coin bears the name “Brevard Police Testing and Selection Center,” along with the tag line “Excellence In Background Investigative Services.”  It displays the logo of the Public Safety Institute and was styled in ESFC colors.

The rear of the coin displays two important mission elements of the BPTC, “Screening For Quality & Integrity,” and “Raising The Level of Law Enforcement.”  The internal areas reflect a waving USA flag, the 30th Anniversary language and the State of Florida outline with a clipped Florida state flag. The outer rings were embossed with a generic Brevard municipal police badge and generic Florida Sheriff’s star in recognition of BPTC’s important role in screening applicants for all Brevard County agencies.

Our team would like to thank the BPTC staff and particularly Mr. Lou Pernice, for allowing us the privilege of working on this project.  For many weeks, Mr. Pernice stayed in close contact with us as we worked through several revisions to ensure that this challenge coin truly captured the mission and spirit of the center.

This artwork and the manpower hours that went into its development were donated by our team to EFSC/BPTC.  You can see some of our other projects and company news here.
